The terrain / off piste

From wide open faces to narrow couloirs and natural pipes, the nature of the terrain gives maximum pleasure to both medium and high experience riders. On a day with good visibility, there are no restrictions. Basically, you can ride everywhere where the ski guides will find good snow. You can do long lines from top to bottom ranging from 500 to 850 vertical meters per line. In bad weather conditions usually, the agenda is to stay low for amazing forest skiing. This where the powder stays protected from the wind, and that is what we chase. Place where trees are used as a tool for orientation in the fog.

The north side of the ski resort Popova Shapka is perfect for snowcat skiing / freeriding.
40 Minutes from Skopje, it lies at 1700 meters and has a lot of powder snow.

SnowCat device

For our operation, we use Leitner Prinoth and Pistenbully, machines with high-security standards. In the price of the product, we also include primary avalanche safety equipment (beacon, probe, shovel) and avalanche airbag system (abs). All together we work on a high level when it comes to safety risk management in outdoor activities. The backcountry skiing terrain is separated in high zones from 2100m to 2600m and lower zones below 2100m but not lower than 1700m. Most of the time you will be riding the north face of the mountain where the north face powder can be found in huge quantities.

Guides & Safety

Our guides have a minimum experience of 6-10 years of guiding in the area and are experienced free riders.

They are certified by local and international guiding federations (UIMLA), but also, they are licensed tour guides to show you the cultural beauties of the region.

Additionally, every guide is regularly participating or organizing safety courses and our goal is to be leading in setting standards and procedures for mountain safety in our region.

Every tour has been done multiple times under different conditions and will be planned very carefully.

We always provide 2 guides for each Snowcat (one head and one tail guide) to provide maximum safety for your backcountry experience.

Additionally, we provide you with all necessary security equipment such as an avalanche beacon and ABS avalanche (+ probe and shovel) backpack free of charge.
